Jessica Kennon Spencer is a designer, photographer and art director based in Springfield, Missouri. Graduating from Missouri State University in 2010 with a degree in Art & Design with an emphasis in Illustration, she went on to work as a designer for the Springfield News-Leader/Gannett Company and later as art director for local advertising company, Door Deals. In 2012, she was named art director at 417 Magazine, an award winning city and regional lifestyle publication. Jessica’s design for 417’s “Best New Restaurants” cover feature was a finalist for the CRMA Best Feature Design award in 2013—a first-time design nomination for 417. , In 2014, 417 released Jessica’s well-received cover-to-cover redesign of the magazine, which was a benchmark for her career among many highlights. Jessica went on to work for Marlin for national clients like Bush's Best, Starbucks and the French's Food Company.
Late in 2016, Jessica began working at Mostly Serious as Associate Director of Design. At Mostly Serious, Jessica gracefully balances her rare dual talent for creative ability and project management. Her process-driven ability to execute memorable visuals with practical layouts contributes wonderfully to our house preference for clean, functional, beautiful design.
Jessica was a charter board member of Springfield Creatives, chaired the Meetings Committee for 3 years, and group President in 2017.
